It is a beautiful frosty season in northeastern China and tourists are flocking to Harbin, the administrative center of Heilongjiang Province (Northeast China). You know, why? Well, to lay their eyes on the mesmerizing beauty of the 19th Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival.

There are varied sculptures to be seen. Whether the Temple of Heaven in Beijing or Red Square in Moscow, every piece of art here is a masterpiece in itself!

Harbin is China's famed Ice City. It looks nothing less than a dreamland of snow. A fantasy of giant snow sculptures which have been vividly illuminated by computer-controlled LEDs. There is a stunning display of color and design.

You will be surprised to know that around 10,000 workers helped create this year's ice world. It covers a sprawling 600,000 sq meters in a park next to the Songhua River.

The festival runs until Feb 28 and had started as early as 1983.
