As a human in the 21st century, one of the hardest challenges (in personal care) to deal with is the challenge of hair loss. It's eventually gonna happen but a lot of people start experiencing it from quite an early age and watch along as their hairline thins away, day by day. It's normal for a person to lose about 50 or even 100 strands of hair in a day but more than that and he/she might be suffering from hair loss.
There could be several factors behind hair loss be it aging, stress, pollution, lack of a proper diet, lack of sleep etc. So we at WittyFeed would like to bring you four such natural remedies to battle hair loss which actually work and the amazing thing is, you'll probably have all the ingredients at home right now.
It goes without saying that hair oils are one of the best remedies for hair fall. It turns out, your mother was actually right, hair oil does keep your hair in a good condition.
You can use any type of oil among these (or even a mixture).
1. Coconut oil.
2. Almond oil.
3. Olive oil.
4. Castor oil.
5. Amla oil.
The correct way to use hair oil is to apply the oil to the scalp and lightly massage with your fingertips. Make sure the pressure is light or else you might end up damaging your hair.
Proper hair and scalp massage increase the blood flow to the scalp, conditions the scalp and enhance the strength of your hair's roots. Another benefit is that it also induces feelings of relaxation and reduces stress.
Another classic, the onion juice over the years has been a popular remedy for the treatment of hair loss. Relatively simple to make and highly effective, you must try using onion juice to treat hair loss.
To make onion juice, you'll need.
2. A blender/food processor. Ideally, you can manage without them too but we'd recommend a blender.
3. A strainer.
1. Apply the onion juice directly onto scalp.
2. Make sure you leave the juice on for at least 30 minutes.
3. Shampoo your hair.
You can also mix two teaspoons of aloe vera gel to further amplify the effects but don't forget to shampoo afterward.
Onion juice is so effective because the juice has high sulfur content which increases the blood flow to the scalp. The antibacterial properties of onion also kills off the germs which would be damaging the scalp otherwise.
Turns out, the juice your dietitian was recommending you has many more benefits than just helping in weight loss. Beetroot juice also helps in hair growth.
To prepare a beetroot juice you'll need two things.
2. Food processor.
There are two ways to use beetroot juice. The first one is you can drink the juice straight away and the properties of beetroot would take care the rest. Or, you can grind a few beetroot leaves boiled in water along with henna and apply the paste to your scalp.
Beetroot has an amazing mix of carbohydrates, proteins, phosphorous, calcium, Vitamin B, and C, all of which are essential for healthy hair growth.
Commonly used in food, most people don't actually know that coconut milk actually helps in preventing hair loss too.
It goes without saying all you'll be needing is some good quality coconut milk. In case you don't have, you can follow these steps to make it.
1. Add a freshly grated coconut to a pan of water.
2. Let it simmer for five minutes and then strain it.
3. Once cool, you'll have your coconut oil.
You can apply the cool coconut milk directly to your scalp, leave it for 15-20 minutes and then shampoo your hair. Alternatively, you can add black pepper and fenugreek seeds to make the treatment even more effective. The reason coconut milk works is because it is full of protein and essential fats which promote hair gain and prevent hair loss.
