Before you sit down to judge a person for his/her looks or temperament the next time, pause for a moment and try to understand their real struggles. If you cannot empathize with them, at least, refrain from passing lewd remarks or cruel comments.

Today, I would like to draw your attention to a daring woman who has defied all odds and taken the road less trodden. She has overcome her fear of being judged and abused and is now leading her life on her own terms.

Alma Torres,24, from New York has come out of the nutshell, ignoring all the brutal comments and trolls that were shoved in her face for having an excess facial hair; a beard, to be more precise. She is an inspiration for all those who try to live each day based on futile societal norms.

Alma Torres was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 16.
