People get extremely excited when they're about to see their first child coming into the world. All the nervousness and excitement result in the birth of an adorable baby (normally one). So just imagine, you are expecting a baby, and you're greeted with a bundle of joy which has three beautiful creatures in it. And what if among these three, two of them are conjoined, what would your reaction be? Happy, amazed or tensed. That's what happened when three beautiful girls - Macy, Mackenzie, and Madeline were born.
These triplets were considered to be rarest of the rare. Two of them had been conjoined congenitally, and as it turns out, there are only a few documented cases of this happening. Do you want to know how their parents dealt with the entire situation? Obviously, they panicked, but the girls were pretty healthy, so that was the good news for them.
Let's check out their story.
These three girls were the rarest case of triplets in the world. But they definitely are fighters because they managed to pull through during the first few hours of critical care.
So, they were given in the loving custody of the Garrison family.
Jeff and Darla Garrison proved to be great at parenting and they are taking care of the young girls very well.
Jeff and Darla Garrison already had three sons,18-year-old Tyler, 14-year-old Matt & 13-year-old Luke. The Garrisons say they were really glad to have the girls in the family.
The conjoined girls were separated to help them lead productive and independent lives.
When the girls were nine months old, they were taken for surgery.
On September 10, 2003, Macy & MacKenzie were taken to Los Angeles Children's Hospital for an operation of 24 hours.
The surgery was a success, but the girls were left with only one leg.
Thanks to the custom-made prosthesis, they not only walk now, they even run!
Now, the family is happily living on a farm in Iowa.
Macy and Mackenzie, both have a single leg now (one with which they were born and the other, prosthetic) but they always keep themselves in pace with their triplet sister Madeline
As these sisters have lived an unusual yet amazing life since their birth and they never hesitated to face the spotlight on them.
They walk together, they role together, they ride together, cause together is what they are and together, is what they have.
They survived something terrible at a very young age. Hats off to you, girls!
God bless these little girls!
