Eeewww.. when I think of or hear the word menstrual cycle, it just becomes impossible to not have the flashbacks of the unbearable days full of pain. Living those bad days of the month are more painful when I'm able to do nothing but cry about it. I try to keep lying in bed, and when that doesn't help, I take painkillers. And, every woman in the world has to survive these days every month.
But, what if I told you that the following hacks (even home remedies) are super-easy and also will take your mind off for a while from all that pain caused due to cramps. Shall we browse through all 15 of them?
Drinking too much water is quite helpful in avoiding bloating during menstrual days. And, try and drink mildly boiled water as it helps in fastening the blood circulation and relaxing the cramped muscles. When the bad days come, try and maintain your water consumption to 8-10 glasses of water a day.
Try to consume as much calcium as you can. It will be helpful in reducing cramps.
Avoid fast foods and try to have more green vegetables, dry fruit juices, fish, eggs, cinnamon, ginger which contain proper vitamins and nutrition. Practice eating fruits with natural sugars, like strawberries.
Avoid junk foods full of fat, grains, and carbonated beverages. Foods of the kind increase bloating and make you unwell.
Caffeine helps you in relieving stress and tension, also some part in minimising your cramps. Remember, don't consume too much, tea can be an alternative (controlled) because it also dehydrates you.
Consuming those food items abundant with vitamin D can help reduce your pain from menstrual cramps. You can relish salmon and tuna with some orange juice. Even soy milk, cereals, cheese and egg yolk, can be considered.
Start doing yoga before your periods start, continue with moderate intensity cardio and choose those exercises which target abs which are cramping. You can further intensify these exercises to feel more relieved.
It doesn't matter if it's an electronic one or a hot water bag, but putting it on the lower abdominal area will ease you from your pains within minutes.
We know it takes a lot of effort to first boil water and pour it in a bag or find that electronic belt. Don't worry, you can even take a hot water bath. Though, it won't help much with the pain yet relax your body with the pain arising from cramps.
