UK's First Interfaith Lesbian Wedding Happened Between This Jewish-Hindu Couple

The initial stage was a bit difficult but then...

Love is beyond boundaries, is an old adage. An example is this rare couple. This Jewish-Hindu woman couple who have made it to the final levels of their relationship.

Kalavati Mistry from Leicester and Miriam Jefferson from Texas, married on August 12, 2017, 20 years after falling for each other on a training course in the US and tied the knot last week. When interviewed by DailyMail, Kalavati said, "Once I told my friends and family a few years ago, they were very warm, welcoming and embracing to Miriam, which is very important. Although attitudes are changing at the moment, it was very difficult to find a priest."

She defined the difficulties that she faced. She said many priests were warm and welcoming and said they'd like to conduct the wedding, but they said that their association wouldn't allow it. She is now grateful that they could do this, finally. She wants to follow Hinduism and some Jewish traditions.
