The TV show host posted on Facebook, a 2008's episode of the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' which aired right after their marriage. In a 2008 episode, Ellen had talked about some of her favourite pictures and shared some details about her big wedding day; obviously with her signature humour.

After Ellen, Portia De Rossi shared something special on Instagram.

De Rossi was also in the festive love mood when she shared this throwback picture of Ellen and her on Instagram. She wrote in the caption "we’ve been together so long that not only do we look like kids in this picture, but it was taken with a camera! Happy 9th, Thing."

This one picture has gone viral and famous more than anything else.

Their timelines across all social media flooded with love texts. DeGeneres, 59, shares this black and white picture from back in time (2008) of her wedding day. She wrote the love caption stating, "@PortiadeRossi and I got married nine years ago today. Being her wife is the greatest thing I am."

Singer Joshua Radin who sang at couple's wedding.

He shared this snap on Instagram and tagged both of them to express his love and wish them a happy anniversary. The singer wrote in the caption, "Nine years ago today, these two incredible women got married and asked me to sing some of my songs to them while they were celebrating their most special day, it's still one of the most fun things I've ever done. Happy anniversary @theellenshow and @portiaderossi."

Both of them had got married in Los Angeles.

Everybody who knows Ellen DeGeneres knows two things about her for sure; first, that she's a lesbian and second that she is married to Portia De Rossi.The couple had got married in the year 2008 at their Los Angeles home. Those who attended the wedding included their close friends, family, relatives and special guests like their dogs.

Their dresses were as special as the day.

Both of them wore the custom designed outfit from American fashion designer Zac Posen. Ellen was wearing the sheer blouse and vest matching with pants, whereas De Rossi stunned everyone with her pinkish white ball gown.

The couple had even released an entire album depicting their marriage.

On its release, Portia De Rossi told People, "the love we felt from the people surrounding us, and the love we have for each other, made this the most beautiful and emotional day, and one that we’ll never forget."

It is said that the couple were connected to each other in the virtual (social media) world for years, but it was until 2004 when both of them met at some photo shoot location in 2004 when the stupid cupid hit them. De Rossi shares she instantly fell in love with her.

"She took my breath straight away," Portia.

"She [Ellen] took my breath away, that had never happened to me in my life, where I saw somebody and [felt] all of those things you hear about in songs and read about in poetry. My knees were weak. It was unbelievable," said Portia in an interview.

Destiny was in their favour.

Soon after their photo shoot ended, both of them didn't meet in the entire year until late-2004 at VH1 Awards show.

In 2016, DeGeneres expressed her gratitude for her amazing partner.

"Portia and I constantly say to each other, we are so lucky.
