A Musician Was Bullied As She Changed Sex But This Is What Kept Her Going

Had you seen Jaimie back in 2015, you wouldn't have thought that this stunningly beautiful girl who played guitar and had a melodious voice would transform into a heartthrob having six-pack abs by 2017. Shocking, right?  Jaimie Wilson is one of the 1.4 million transgender adults living in the USA today. Jaimie is 21 years old and took a life-altering decision of undergoing a transition in 2015.  Like any other member of the LGBT community, life wasn't easy for Jaimie. He had to face several challenges but he overcame them with his strong will and confidence.   Not everyone has to show ‘signs’ to be transgender. This is Jaimie's message to the world.Scroll down to read more about his journey and transition!

He was scared, initially.

“At first, I was scared to come out as transgender because I didn’t give any ‘signs,’ as people say,” he wrote on Instagram.

People refused to accept him.

“When I came out, people refused to believe I was a man because of how “feminine” I presented for 18 years." He started cutting his hair and wearing men’s clothes. He then opted for testosterone treatment.

Inside, he had been a man.

After 2 years of testosterone treatment, surgery, and spending a lot of time at the gym, Jaimie succeeded in transforming himself into a man. This is something Jaimie always felt inside.

“People say that I’m trying too hard to be like a cisgendered male.”

Initially, everyone around him criticised him for being too feminine to become a man and now that he has transformed successfully, people from the transgender community criticise him for being too masculine and trying too hard to become a  trans man.

But Jaimie hasn't given up.

“You are NOT who people think you are, you are who you know you are,” are Jaimie’s words.

He is a great singer too!

He is an aspiring country musician and is already creating a buzz on social media. Also, he is scheduled to perform at the Sziget Festival in Budapest this August, alongside The Chainsmokers, Pink, and Wiz Khalifa.

His family and friends parted ways.

“I’ve lost my family and most of my friends since I started my transition but in the process, I’ve found out who really cares about me," says Jaimie.

He is an inspiration.

“This life is about finding yourself and becoming YOU. No one’s journey is the same," Jaimie said. That's all, mates. You can reach out to me on drishti@wittyfeed.com.Stay tuned!
