These Shades Of Poop Tell You Everything About Your Health

Like most people, I've pooped a lot in my life. And c'mon don't act like it's a dirty thing to discuss. I do it, you do it, everyone does it,  so what's the problem? But wait! Being aware of your poop colour will save you from discomfort and diseases. Yes, you heard it right. Pooping comes with a lot of relief yet it needs to be noticed like any other thing in your body. Well, what I see usually is, things follow a fairly predictable pattern, but now and then, I come across unusual colours and shapes. I don't feel bad or have any discomfort, but I'm concerned that these changes might mean something. Are you also worried about your poop colours sometimes? Don't get worried about it, just simply notice and be aware that you are in good health. For you, I've brought here the rundown of some poop colours and their respective indications towards your health. So, let's take a look.

Bile is producing normally.

Bile is a fluid your liver makes to digest fats. It starts out as a yellowish green colour. But as the pigments that give bile its colour travel through your digestive system, they go through chemical changes and turn brown. So, stay stress-free, you're normal.

Ate green veggies?

Most of the time green or greenish poop is normal. Some of the things that can cause it are green veggies like spinach or kale green food colourings such as in drink mixes, ice pops and Iron supplements.

Do you have excess fat?

This shade is sometimes normal for many people. It’s common for babies, especially those who breastfeed. But if you have yellow poop that looks greasy and smells very bad, it may have too much fat. That could be a sign your body isn’t digesting food properly.

You may be having Ulcer.

Babies’ poop is black for the first few days after they’re born. After that, it may be because you ate something very dark-colored or took a medicine or supplement that is generally transferred to your baby when it is breastfed, and so the result is a black poop.

Blood in your poop?

If you see red or reddish poop in the toilet, don’t be alarmed right away. First, ask yourself if you’ve had red foods lately. If you don’t think your diet is the cause, the red you see may be blood. And encountering blood in your poop may be due to reasons like Ulcers, a noncancerous tumour, etc. So, take care of that and visit your doctor at its earliest.

There's something wrong with the bile duct.

Medicines for diarrhoea like bismuth sub-salicylate etc. can sometimes cause pale or clay white coloured poop. Also, barium, a chalky liquid you drink before you get X-rays of the upper part of your digestive tract can result in a white poop. So, watch out carefully.

Know about your health now? So, keep pooping!

I hope you are now quite aware of your health. Trust me, I feel no shame in checking it now and then and you must too, not feel anything like that.
