These Powerful NSFW Photos From The 2017 Birth Photo Competition Prove That Moms Are Badass

I remember the quote by Larry Barretto: "Babies are bits of star-dust blown from the hand of God. Lucky the woman who knows the pangs of birth for she has held a star."I 100% agree with this fact. Today, let's talk about the importance of birth photography. Of late, the world has started capturing the moments of child birth. And taking photographs on this occasion has become as important as taking pictures of one's engagement and wedding. And yes, The International Association of Professional Birth Photographers contest was one of a kind. The Association has announced the winners of their contest, and the photos they chose show the struggles mothers go through to bring new life into the world. Not to forget the sheer joy that follows cannot be described in mere words. Each picture tells a story of pain, perseverance, and finally, relief. The pictures document a baby's first moments of life, and they are beautiful. Images via IAPBB

Amazing!

Oh goodness! Determination.

Giving birth on the way home.

Love grows with the coming of a new born.

Hey, mama! This is me, your baby.

That first touch is magical.

A little rest before the baby comes.

Look at that little baby's face.

Too scared to go in for the delivery.

Isn't that pain worth everything?

The pain to a new beginning.

Water birth.

Crying for that baby: the first look.

As she rose from all the pain.

She is the strength.

Tears of happiness.

That squeeze.

A selfless finale.

While she moaned for help.

A beautiful transition.

He's there for her!

Heart to heart; forever in love.

Giving birth in the shower.

A beautiful transition.

The softest landing.

At peace.

A joyful journey.

Little fingers, little toes.

Love is all they need.

Grandmothers are happy.

That first smile.

A colorful birth.

That euphoric first touch.

Those last breaths in the womb.

First breath in the light.

A happy feeling. Thank you, Lord!

Love!

The first reaction to being born.

BREATHE!

BREATHE!

It's a miracle!

Pure bliss!

Looking inside.

It was the birth of a mother.

Raw power!

The happiness of surrogacy.

A 17-year miracle of infertility.

What do you want to say for this one?

She will hold you upright in her arms.

A delightful cesarian birth.

That slow labor and the joy after.

Holding on to give that baby all the strength.

Oh, hello baby!
