15 Early Symptoms To Confirm Pregnancy Before You Miss Your Periods

Becoming a mother is the most precious moment for a woman, as pregnancy brings out the feeling of motherhood in her especially when she is becoming pregnant for the first time. 1. Bloating

Your belly may project outwards, your pants may be tight, and you might feel the need to unbutton to breathe comfortably. You may look like pregnant even if your fetus is tiny, or just a ball of cells. To get relief from bloating, eat small portions through the day for easy digestion. It's time to shift to a healthy diet.

2. Cramps in pelvic areas

Cramps in pelvic areas are not the same as the cramps during periods. This may last for a couple of days. This is because the fertilized egg gets attached to uterus lining.

3. Elevated Basal Body Temperature (BBT)

One of the earliest signs of pregnancy, BBT is more accurate than the others. A couple of weeks before ovulation, it may be around 97.2 to 97.7°F. It is the average BBT in the pre-ovulation state. One to two days after ovulation, it'll increase from 0.4 to 1°. It decreases after you complete your period. But in pregnancy, the BBT remains elevated.

4. Food aversion

You may not feel like having your favourite foods, and their smell or taste might make you nauseous. It is believed that it could be due to the elevated levels of progesterone. Just try to maintain your regular diet.

5. Milky white discharge 

Your vagina might swell up, and there might be a milky white discharge. Due to increased progesterone levels, your body produces cervical mucus, resulting in a sensitive vagina.  

6. Dizziness and headache

Dizziness and lightheaded-ness are also early symptoms of pregnancy, caused by low blood pressure. During your first trimester, it is normal to experience dizziness as the blood vessels dilate, reducing the blood pressure.

7. Nausea

Several women misinterpret it as a sign of food poisoning and indigestion. In fact, some might even think that it is caused due to the morning sickness. But there is a possibility that you're pregnant and your hormone levels are slowing down your metabolism. With pregnancy comes slower digestion.   

8. Large and tender breasts

Your breasts might grow because of the hormone levels and will become softer. If your breasts feel tender with a slight touch, it means tenderness has increased.  

9. Frequent urination 

The body supports more blood to support you and the baby and this forces the kidneys to filter more.  

10. Drooling

It is not a common symptom but affects some women in their early pregnancy. Some women may produce excessive saliva before they conceive. The excess saliva production is related to heartburn and morning sickness.

11. Fatigue and tiredness 

Due to fluctuating hormones, you feel tired and fatigued easily. The body spends energy throughout day and night to keep the baby secure. It's only natural that the tiredness will follow.  

12. Constipation 

Some women suffer from constipation during pregnancy. The decelerated metabolism also leads to irregular bowel movements.    

13. Late night cravings 

You will have cravings to eat sweet and sour foods during pregnancy. Your cravings for treats and sweets will increase significantly. But try to keep your diet healthy.

14. Mood swings

Mood swings are also due to hormonal changes. The variations in the hormone levels affect neurotransmitters of the brain, which cause enhanced emotions, from spells of weeping to sudden anger outbursts.

15. Shortness of breath

You may begin having shortness of breath in the first few weeks of pregnancy since your body requires more oxygen and blood to share with the growing fetus.
