Girl Defies Her School’s Sexist Dress Code After Making This Bold Decision

Let's stand up for girl power!

Many of you will remember how it was growing up and going to school in the 1980's and 1990's. Some of our readers might have even gone to school during an earlier time. The point being that school rules were very strictly enforced back then; including dress codes. Times have changed a lot since back in those days, yet so many schools internationally still enforce very strict and often sexist dress codes on their students/pupils. Even teachers and other staff members are expected to follow a special staff dress code policy.

In Portland USA, a sixth grader by the name of Molly Neuner decided that it was high time that someone stood up to her school’s outdated (and sexist) dress code by taking a stand herself. Never did she picture/imagine that her actions would land her on the cover of various hit magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue and Allure. But just how did this 11-year-old girl from Maine manage to make it into not only national but international headlines?

Read below to find out how she did it.
